I’m suddenly craving Kerala food…not just “South Indian” food, but specifically Kerala stuff and specifically these two meals we had on the houseboat some two years ago. I can’t exactly remember which Hotel the houseboat belonged to, and even less, the names of these dishes. All I remember is, that they rank among the top 15 best meals I’ve had in my life. And that there were ridiculous amounts of coconut and banana in combinations you could have never imagined. And also yummy other ingredients, but the coconut and the bananas stood out. I can’t imagine where in Delhi I could get a meal even half as good as this. I have been Sagar Ratna enough many times (my family is crazy) to have tried every dish on their menu at least twice and every time I go there I end up staring at the menu wishing it would magically transform into something fresh and new. I’m done with “South Indian”. But I would really really like some authentic Kerala cuisine. Suggestions, anyone? More photos from the 2010 Kerala trip here and here.

Some butterfly Marari Beach Resort Kerala, India 17 September 2010 The problem with travel photos is that there are just way too many of them. Take my Kerala photos for example. Even 10 months later I’m finding long forgotten photographs that are brilliant but never got looked at twice. Some really bad ones got looked at quite often, but that’s just my photo organisation for you. Btw, when it comes to photos of butterflies, this is as awesome as it gets. Also, I edit a lot. And I have a bit of a Lightroom addiction right now.
